The Full Sort Name unique identifier field of an address record, is made up of a combination of the Sort Name field, and the Address Code field. The Sort Name field is itself made up of the Organization Name field in address records for organizations, and a combination of the Prefix, Firstname, and Lastname fields, in address records for individuals. The Address Code field - which does not get printed on addresses - allows you to specify for an individual or organization, more than one address record, and not get a duplicate address record error. For example, if you have more than one address record for IBM, you can specify a value in the Address Code field for each record (e.g. NY Office, DC Office), and the DC Envelope Printer will accept it as a valid record. Note: the Address Code field is usually left blank in address records.
The Full Sort Name field unique identifier field of an address record, is therefore made up of a combination of the name of the organization or individual, along with the Address Code, which is used to distinguish between multiple addresses, for an addressee.
